T O P I C R E V I E WmicropoozThose of you who have delved into the Kennedy Space Center "official" cachets of the 1960's to 1970's probably know of "Dusty" Rhodes who was fundamental in establishing the KSC post office and the "official cachets." So, does anyone know Dusty's given first name? The reason I ask is that I'm watching a show on the AHC Channel about the naval battle of Leyte Gulf in WWII. They interview a Harold "Dusty" Rhodes who served on the USS Johnston, one of a small handful of destroyers that held off the entire Japanese Central Fleet during the battle. And was sunk by overwhelming force. I know it's a longshot that it's the same guy... but inquiring minds need to know!Robert PearlmanAccording to a 1969 NASA release about the "record mail volume" at Kennedy Space Center, the Chief of KSC's Mail and Reports Management Section was Forrest J. "Dusty" Rhodes.micropoozAh, thanks Robert!Case closed...
